Like a beautifully blooming flower dancing in the moonlight, Gekkabijin continues to inspire and energize anglers. Cutting-edge tuning and a carbon monocoque rear grip deliver top-class sensitivity

The Gekkabijin MX series is designed with a focus on achieving the highest level of sensitivity and operability.
The blanks, engineered specifically for ajing, incorporate technologies from higher-end models to achieve exceptional sensitivity along with a slender, lightweight profile. Every subtle tension drop and delicate bite is transmitted clearly, allowing anglers to detect the slightest changes and execute precise lure action.

The fully carbon-molded grip end enhances vibration transmission all the way to the hand, enabling instant bite detection during curve fall or retrieve and allowing quick, confident hooksets. The reel seat adopts the Zero Seat Compact Fit, which offers a lightly supported, effortless grip.

The lineup covers not only jighead rigs—the main method of ajing—but also split-shot, Carolina rigs, and a wide variety of lures and situations.

Daiwa Technology

X45

Through extensive research into preventing blank twisting during casting, action, hooking, and fighting, Daiwa discovered that adding a ±45° bias carbon layer—alongside the traditional 0° and 90° orientations—provides optimal anti-twist performance.
The X45 structure dramatically reduces twisting, improving power, operability, and sensitivity.

MEGA TOP

MEGA TOP is a carbon solid tip with fibers and resin uniformly dispersed, creating equal bending characteristics in all directions. This significantly increases strength compared to standard carbon solid tips and enables the creation of thin, flexible, high-taper tips. These tips excel not only in transmitting tactile vibrations but also in providing excellent visual bite detection.
Not used on model 54L-T.

ZERO SEAT

The Zero Seat is a new reel seat concept developed to eliminate stress and allow anglers to fully enjoy fishing.

V-JOINT

By incorporating a bias carbon sheet into the joint section, V-Joint creates a bend curve remarkably close to that of a one-piece rod. It offers significantly improved power, resilience, and recovery speed compared to rods without the technology, producing an ideal rod action.

HVF NANOPLUS

High-density HVF carbon reduces resin content while increasing carbon fiber density, making it an ideal material for rods requiring strength and resilience. By combining Toray’s Nanoalloy Technology with Daiwa’s unique manufacturing methods, the material achieves even greater strength and reduced weight.

48L-S

The 48L-S is a super-short model tuned for sharp, precise hooking performance. Its compact length enables agile manipulation of 1g-class jigheads and small metal jigs, allowing accurate shake-based presentations. It is highly effective for close-range fishing in bays and harbors, especially when detecting subtle current shifts and targeting finicky or low-activity horse mackerel.

54L-T

The 54L-T is a short tubular-tip model offering excellent operability and strong feedback sensitivity. Its hollow construction delivers lightweight sharpness, enabling intuitive control over 1g-class jigheads and small metal jigs. Ideal for brightly lit areas where long casts are needed or for fast-paced lift-and-fall strategies near shallow bottoms.

55L-S

The 55L-S balances casting distance and operability. Its solid tip provides crisp, accurate action control for lightweight jigheads and small metal jigs. 64UL-S

The 64UL-S is a standard light model designed for quickly and efficiently covering harbor areas. The 66L-S is the most versatile standard model for jighead-based ajing. It handles 1g-class jigheads as well as split-shot rigs, metal jigs, and more. Its length provides excellent control even from high seawalls, enabling wide-range lift-and-fall fishing. Automatic hooksets that don’t deflect bites are a key appeal of this model.

711ML-S

The 711ML-S is a power-long model designed to dominate offshore currents and breaks.
