Lighter Rotor Unit
The rotor unit has been lightened through the combination of the new AIRDRIVE ROTOR, AIRDRIVE BAIL (wire type), and arm lever, contributing to an overall reduction in weight (10g lighter than the previous model). The AIRDRIVE ROTOR enables effortless "winding" and "stopping" actions.

Manual-Return Aori Clutch
The manual-return Aori Clutch prevents the clutch from accidentally disengaging while the handle is turning.

*Aori Clutch
A mechanism essential for the Yaen fishing method—which requires allowing the bigfin reef squid (Aori-ika) to grasp the horse mackerel bait without sensing anything amiss—this clutch switches between the front and rear drag systems. (This reel is equipped with two independent drag systems: front and rear.)

Spool Free Adjustment Dial
The dial features fine click settings, allowing for precise adjustments.

ATD TYPE-L
A drag system that engages smoothly in response to the squid's pull and maintains consistent, fluid resistance.

LC-ABS
Achieves comfortable line release through a lighter spool and a redesigned spool lip shape.

AIRDRIVE ROTOR
Based on a unique design theory, this rotor features a new shape—reminiscent of a sphere carved directly from a solid block—with all excess material meticulously removed. This achieves significant weight reduction while maintaining rigidity. The lightness of the initial rotation has been dramatically improved, leading to enhanced operability and sensitivity.

AIRDRIVE BAIL
Features a wire-type AIRDRIVE BAIL. Significant weight reduction was achieved while maintaining the strength required for actual fishing conditions, further lightening the rotor unit. Reducing the weight of the rotor unit (including the bail) contributes to a substantial decrease in rotational inertia. This refines rotational response and improves handling. The arm lever also features a new shape that significantly reduces line tangles. ATD TYPE-L
ATD is a drag system known for engaging smoothly in response to a fish's pull and maintaining consistent drag pressure. ATD TYPE-L enhances this initial response. By optimizing the start-up and tracking capabilities, it allows anglers to focus entirely on the fight without worrying about drag settings.

Manual-Return "Aori" Clutch
Equipped with a manual-return "Aori" clutch. While auto-return systems offer the convenience of automatically disengaging the free-spool mode when the handle is turned, they can be inconvenient if the mode disengages unintentionally during rotation; therefore, this model adopts a user-friendly manual system. In the event of a sudden, powerful pull from the squid during the fight, the lever can be switched to "free" mode, instantly allowing the spool to spin freely.

LT3000: Shallow spool specification (Capacity: Nylon No. 2 / 150m). Recommended for fishing styles that use thinner main lines with low resistance, allowing the live horse mackerel bait to swim naturally without stress.
LT3000D: Deep spool specification (Capacity: Nylon No. 4 / 150m). Recommended for fishing styles that use thicker main lines capable of handling the powerful surges of large Bigfin Reef Squid (Aori-ika).

Yaen Fishing Process

① Deployment
Switch the Aori clutch to ON (activating the front drag), adjust the front drag to your preference in anticipation of the fight, and cast out the rig with the live horse mackerel attached.

② Waiting for a Strike
After casting, close the bail, tension the main line, place the rod in the rod holder, and switch the Aori clutch to "free." In this free mode, the spool spins freely (allowing line to be pulled out), and the rear drag system (controlled by the spool-free adjustment dial) becomes active. Adjust the spool's free-spinning resistance (tension) using the rear drag to suit wind and tidal conditions. Typically, set the tension as loose as possible to allow the *aji* (horse mackerel) to swim freely while waiting for a strike from a bigfin reef squid (*aori-ika*).

③ Strike & Hook-set
When a squid grabs the *aji* and swims off, the line is pulled out, causing the spool to rotate in reverse and the "strike clicker" to emit a loud buzzing sound. To set the hook, switch the "Aori Clutch" back to the ON position, set the hook, and begin reeling in.

④ Landing
Reel the squid in while adjusting the drag, then deploy the *yaen* (a specialized sliding hook rig) to hook and land the squid.
