SHIMANO 22 Bantam HG Right

The new Bantam is equipped with Magnum Light Spool 3, a 150 size spool with a larger diameter (φ35/19mm) and a narrower spool than the previous model to improve compatibility with centrifugal brakes. The line guide has been moved slightly forward to achieve an elongated casting feel reminiscent of the 19 Antares. Inside the highly rigid core solid body is the first Infinity Drive built into a low-profile bait. This greatly reduces rotational resistance, enabling powerful and direct reeling, and dramatically improves the angler's ability to detect changes in the bottom and water resistance to the lure. This is a unit that takes the strong versatile angler to the next level.

Newly equipped with low inertia Magnum Light Spool, which allows you to cast far into the distance and cast low trajectory short casts at will. While having a line capacity of 150 size, it has achieved amazing stretch reminiscent of 19 Antares. The Bantam, which uses a high-rigidity core solid body and can withstand tough fishing, demonstrates even more castability in combination with Magnum Light Spool III. It has evolved into a strong and technical low-profile model that can handle all-round fishing from long distances to close range.

The adoption of Infinity Drive takes strong versatility to a new level
Newly equipped with Infinity Drive, a new structure that supports the spool shaft from the inside of the pinion gear instead of the bearing on the spool side, which has a high rotational resistance. The rotational resistance of the gear section has been greatly reduced, achieving a lighter and more direct winding feel than before, while also achieving high strength. This is the first time that the Bantam has been equipped with this feature in a bait casting reel, following the 21 Calcutta Conquest, and the first time that the Bantam has been equipped with this feature in a low profile reel. The Infinity Drive brings even more comfort and strength to the Bantam's high-rigidity core solid body. This exquisite combination takes the Strong Versatile to a new level.

Micro Module Gear
A new drive system in which small precision gears mesh tightly.
Ultra-small precision gears and an elaborate body housing provide a "silky" winding feel never experienced before. HAGANE Body

Infinity Drive

A new mechanism developed by Shimano to achieve stronger, lighter winding. Of the two grease bearings that support the pinion gear, the bearing on the spool side has the greatest rotational resistance. Instead of supporting it, the structure has been completely redesigned to support it from the inside of the pinion gear with the spool axis. Furthermore, the support distance and thickness of the gear have been thoroughly optimized to achieve high support rigidity. The rotational resistance of the gear part has been greatly reduced without compromising the gear strength.
