This assist line design is optimal for semi-long to long jigs commonly used in catching Spanish mackerel patterns. It utilizes lightweight and highly absorbent jigging hooks, Vertical Limit, and features Zylon in the assist line, which is capable of handling sharp-toothed fish species such as Spanish mackerel and tuna. The use of a taut assist line and a shrink tube reduces the entanglement with the jig. The 6/0 and 7/0 sizes are designed for assist lines of optimal length for jigging for Yellowtail, Amberjack, and Tuna.
