A lightweight rod dedicated to tenya tachiuo fishing, fitted with Metal Top and "AGS" in the tip section to achieve outstanding sensitivity.

The tip section uses Metal Top, which is supple and excellent in both visual sensitivity and bite-taking performance, while also delivering outstanding tactile sensitivity. This model is the first in the series to fit "AGS" to the tip section, contributing to lighter weight and improved tactile sensitivity. On top of that, a Zero Seat Cavity Trigger with an excellent fit further polishes its lightness and sensitivity. The blank uses high-density HVF Nanoplus carbon, reinforced further with X45 to achieve high-response hooksets and the power to comfortably handle even a "dragon-sized" fish. The lineup includes items you can choose between to suit different depths, fishing methods, and activity levels.

Metal Top

By fitting the tip with a super-elastic titanium alloy tip section similar to SMT, it gains the kind of ultra-high, metallic sensitivity unique to titanium alloy. That high sensitivity covers a range of vibration — bites and the subtle "motare" (a fish mouthing the bait) — that ordinary carbon simply can't pick up.

AGS

AGS (Air Guide System), which delivers light weight and high sensitivity, uses a carbon frame. Because carbon offers roughly three times the rigidity of titanium, it transmits even the faintest signals carried through the line directly to the blank without absorbing them, giving it high sensitivity. Carbon's light weight also helps reduce the weight of the whole rod, and lightening the tip section in particular brings an added boost in sensitivity.

Zero Seat Cavity Trigger

Zero Seat is a reel-seat design philosophy aimed at letting anglers enjoy fishing wholeheartedly, free of stress. The "Cavity (hollow) Trigger," developed based on that philosophy, aims for sensitivity through thorough weight reduction. Its outer surface, where it touches the hand, is shaped for handling, while material is hollowed out from the inside to achieve that weight reduction.

X45

To prevent the twisting that occurs during casting, action, hooksets, and fights, years of research led to the conclusion that, on top of the conventional structure (0° and 90° relative to the rod tip), wrapping a "45°" bias cross — carbon fiber angled at ±45° — is the optimal way to prevent twist. By adopting X45, twist is prevented, and power, handling, and sensitivity are all dramatically improved.

HVF Nanoplus

"High-density HVF carbon," which reduces the amount of resin while increasing carbon fiber density instead, is an ideal material for rods that prioritize toughness and strength. Combining it with Toray's Nanoalloy technology through DAIWA's own proprietary process makes even greater strength and weight reduction possible.
