Kabu Theory
“Kabu Theory” is DAIWA’s original design method inspired by traditional Japanese rod-building techniques unique to handcrafted hera rods. By maximizing the advantages of carbon materials and enabling the bending apex to move smoothly, the rod responds naturally to changes in load and direction. The result is excellent casting performance even against headwinds, crisp hook-setting that cuts cleanly through the water, and smooth landing ability—ultimately delivering outstanding operability.
V-JOINTα
Using high-strength Nano Alloy material in the joint section and leveraging DAIWA’s precision manufacturing technology, V-JOINTα further strengthens, lightens, and refines the bending curve beyond the original V-JOINT. In rods with multiple sections, the joint length can be shortened without sacrificing strength, contributing both to reduced weight and smoother overall action.
X45
Through years of research, DAIWA determined that the optimal way to prevent blank twisting is to add ±45° bias-layer carbon fibers to the conventional 0°/90° structure. With X45, twist is minimized during casting, lure manipulation, hook-setting, and fighting fish. This results in dramatic improvements in power, handling, and sensitivity.
MEGA TOP
MEGA TOP is a carbon solid tip in which fibers and resin are uniformly dispersed, resulting in identical bending characteristics in all directions. This dramatically increases strength compared to standard carbon solid tips. The fine, flexible, high-taper design offers excellent tactile sensitivity and outstanding visual sensitivity, enabling clear bite detection. Available on 8, 8.5, and 9.5 ft models only.

This next-generation lightweight power rod delivers high-level operability and power balance for precise casts with small floats and soft bait, as well as controlled fighting performance when every fish matters.
Refined Lengths and Section Counts
The lineup features carefully selected lengths and number of sections, including newly added 8.5 ft and 9.5 ft 4-section models. These subtle length differences can be the deciding factor in tight competition. The combination of a solid jointed tip and a power-focused tuning creates a rod that truly embodies the offensive–defensive versatility of the HERA T series.
The 8.5 and 9.5 ft models intentionally adopt a 4-section structure to enhance suppleness and resilience, offering a distinctly different feel from the 3-section 8 ft model designed for high-tempo fishing.
New “Tactile Hera Grip” Focused on Operability
A newly developed grip features tightly wrapped thread coated multiple times with a non-slip tactile finish that maintains grip even when wet and reduces bait buildup. Grip shapes vary by model: shorter rods emphasize wrist operability, while longer rods prioritize secure gripping. This thoughtful design reduces fatigue and helps prevent operational mistakes.

A must-have for short, high-speed tournament-style fishing. This new 3-section configuration features longer #2 and #3B sections, providing a new bending balance that allows the rod to bend deeply while maintaining strong pulling power.
8.5 ft (4-section)
The 4-section design increases the number of joints, creating a bend that stores power while emphasizing resilience. The soft bend of the #1 and #2 sections allows easy presentation with soft bait, and the extra foot of effective length becomes a major advantage in critical tournament situations.
9.5 ft (4-section)
An additional 0.5 ft not only increases reach but also enhances blank power. With the same bending balance, this model delivers noticeably more lifting strength. In shallow ranges, it can stop the runs of large crucian carp, and in chōchin-style fishing, it provides superior lifting power beyond what its smooth bend suggests.
11 ft (3-section)
