"MX" offers beginner-friendly core performance, while master anglers have polished it and relentlessly pursued a taper you can really trust. The blank generously uses "HVF Nanoplus," the same material found in higher-end models, while "X45" thoroughly eliminates twist during casting and jerking. This delivers highly efficient handling with minimal power loss, transmitting action exactly as the angler intends. The reel seat uses the light, highly sensitive "Air Sensor Seat." On top of that, it's fitted with a carbon monocoque rear grip — a first for a DAIWA eging rod — dramatically improving vibration transmission. From a light, snappy jerk to a sharp hookset, the whole sequence of motion comes together with remarkable smoothness.

X45

To prevent the twisting that occurs during casting, action, hooksets, and fights, years of research led to the conclusion that, on top of the conventional structure (0° and 90° relative to the rod tip), wrapping a "45°" bias cross — carbon fiber angled at ±45° — is the optimal way to prevent twist. By adopting X45, twist is prevented, and power, handling, and sensitivity are all dramatically improved.

Mega Top

Mega Top is a carbon solid material with fibers and resin evenly distributed throughout, so it bends the same way in every direction. As a result, its strength is dramatically improved compared to a conventional carbon solid tip. This makes it possible to build a slim-diameter, flexible, high-taper tip section that delivers not only sensitivity you can feel in your hand, but also excellent visual sensitivity in the tip itself, giving you a tip section that reads bites reliably.

Air Sensor Seat

The Air Sensor Seat, which incorporates carbon fiber, achieves light weight, high strength, and high sensitivity. It's purpose-designed for each rod's intended use, delivering a level of handling that a generic reel seat simply can't match.

V-Joint

By using a bias-structured carbon sheet at the rod's joint, it achieves a beautiful, low-distortion bend that feels almost like a one-piece rod. Compared to a rod without it, power, backbone, and the speed of snap-back from a bend are all significantly increased, producing an ideal taper.
