"More Casting Distance, More Responsive Control" – A Lightweight Rod Tailored for Port Shore Jigging
DAIWA DRAGGER
“DRAGGER” means “to pull forcefully”—a fitting name for DAIWA’s line of shore and rock shore jigging rods built to win in hard-hitting fights. Shore jigging is all about tightening the drag to its maximum and relying on the rod’s strength to bring powerful pelagic fish to the surface. In such a high-stakes style of fishing, your rod must be an unshakably reliable partner. Continuously refined and improved at real fishing grounds, the DRAGGER series is built for anglers who take on big game with full commitment.

DAIWA Technologies
X45
To suppress rod twist during casting, retrieving, hooksets, and fighting, DAIWA developed a bias construction using carbon fibers angled at ±45° in addition to the conventional 0° and 90° layering. The result is enhanced power, precision, and sensitivity, thanks to significant twist resistance.
AIR SENSOR SEAT
This lightweight, high-strength, and highly sensitive reel seat incorporates carbon fiber for greater responsiveness. Designed specifically for each rod model, it offers ergonomic performance unattainable with generic reel seats.
HVF Carbon (High Volume Fiber)
By reducing unnecessary resin content and increasing carbon fiber density, DAIWA’s HVF carbon delivers a muscular and powerful blank. This composition enhances strength and resilience—ideal for rods that demand power and durability.
Key Features
Lightweight, Responsive Tip Design The light tip reduces fatigue during long jigging sessions and increases sensitivity to current resistance when using minnows or blade baits.
Tangle-Resistant K Guides Equipped with K guides for smoother line flow and reduced line trouble. The top guide features SiC rings for durability, while others use Alconite. The tip section features smaller-diameter guides to improve cast feel and rod handling.
Comfortable AIR SENSOR Reel Seat Spinning models from ML to MH power use the slim, easy-to-handle Air Sensor Standard Seat for better grip and less fatigue. The H-power spinning model uses DPS; baitcasting models use TCS.
Concept 1: Lightweight Design for Port Areas Tailored for environments with fewer obstacles, this rod offers exceptional maneuverability among rods in its price range—without compromising on butt strength.
Concept 2: Action Tuned by Area Though a standard model, the DRAGGER MX doesn’t skimp on action tuning. Each variant is carefully adjusted in collaboration with local experts for optimal performance in areas like Osaka Bay or the Sea of Japan. Specific versions are also designed with narrow jetties, fishing parks, or female anglers in mind.
