DAIWA CONNECTED aims to provide new value to the fishing scene by achieving easy setup, evolved functionality, and a new experience. DAIWA CONNECTED is made up of two technologies: "Electric Mobile Setting" and the "DAIWA Connecting System," and refers to a "reel that connects to a smartphone." The "DAIWA Connecting System," one of the DAIWA CONNECTED concepts, is installed on baitcasting spinning reels and smelt reels. By linking the "DAIWA Connecting System" with wirelessly compatible reels (baitcasting spinning reels and smelt reels with a "-C" at the end), the system allows for function updates and the ability to check data obtained from the reel.
Furthermore, in the spring of 2025, a new function that links with wearable devices (sub-displays and hearables) will be released. The concept of DAIWA CONNECTED will bring new value to the fishing scene and further expand the enjoyment of fishing.

The goal was to achieve the longest casting distance with a φ34mm spool.
The IM Z series features a φ34mm G1 duralumin IM spool that combines a highly responsive start-up that anyone can experience with excellent extension in the latter stages of the cast. The spool unit weighs just 8.7g (excluding spool ball bearings), making it the lightest in the φ34mm series.
The new IM circuit board significantly improves casting accuracy and battery life, delivering outstanding performance with every cast. This powerful spool is capable of a wide range of casting, from short and medium distances to long distances.
The IM Z series' greatest feature is its advanced brake modes. Start with four brake modes. For each brake mode, thorough analysis of casting data accumulated with the IM Z series has been incorporated into the φ34mm spool compatibility. Its impressive long casts and castability make it suitable for a wide range of baitcasters, whether in freshwater or saltwater, from a boat, shore, or wading.
Even though it's a 100cm size, a high-performance drag is essential for taking on large-sized targets. The multi-plate drag system with carbon washers provides excellent tracking performance and a maximum drag force of 6kg, providing thorough support for all anglers. It's also the first baitcasting reel to feature an electronic drag sound. By eliminating physical resistance during drag operation, you can reel in quality fish with smooth drag performance that is not possible with conventional mechanical drag click mechanisms.

Innovative New IM Unit
We've developed a new IM unit exclusively for the IM Z TW100-C. In terms of basic performance, it offers improved waterproofing, processing speed, and battery life. In terms of the user interface, we've significantly enhanced operability by improving the ease of operation and click feel of the control switches, a feature frequently requested by IM Z users.

Evolved Brake Mode
The new IM Z is equipped with a new brain. Processing speed has been dramatically improved, providing comfortable brake control. Updates can be made to add new brake modes, continuing to provide an even more enjoyable casting experience.

High Operability
The overall form has been made more compact and low-profile, bringing the reel weight to 205g. The full aluminum housing combines the basic performance required of a baitcasting reel: a solid feel and smooth rotation.

HYPER ARMED HOUSING (FULL AL)
If the gears that control the drive unit are the heart of a baitcasting reel, the frame (housing) is its skeleton. Smooth-spinning gears, a high-precision spool that keeps things rolling, and a durable clutch system that ensures trouble-free operation—all of these features can only be realized with a robust frame. This series utilizes aluminum die-casting for the frame, gear-side side plate (handle side), and dial-side set plate, all finished with high-precision machine cutting for unwavering rigidity. This housing system firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and precision, resulting in a precise reeling feel and high power.

High-Strength, High-Precision Solid Pinion
The IM Z TW100-C uses a solid pinion (right side of the image), which improves gear strength by approximately 23% compared to conventional pinions (left side of the image). This unique DAIWA mechanism, made possible by a "zero shaft" design that eliminates the spool shaft, delivers smooth rotation performance and meets the demands of even higher gears.

By sending log data accumulated on the reel to your smartphone, you can view your fishing log data in the DAIWA app. It also offers expandability, allowing you to maximize reel performance and download new brake modes.

φ34mm G1 Duralumin IM Spool
The φ34mm spool's rapid rotation start-up is a distinctive feature of the 100 Series. As a result, the synergy with Intelligent Magforce has refined the wide dynamic brake range and high-precision brake processing technology. The spool unit weighs just 8.7g. Compared to the spool equipped with the 22 ZILLION TW HD1000, which is equipped with MAG-Z BOOST, this is approximately 34% lighter. Not only is response faster, but the brake characteristics have also been significantly improved, allowing for greater control over the range of adjustments.

New TWS with an approximately 31% larger opening
We've refined our unique TWS technology to reduce line release resistance during casting, or to expand the "no-resistance range." The new Tapered TWS, available exclusively for φ34mm and 24mm widths, features an approximately 31% larger opening compared to the previous model. This provides enhanced line release performance and a casting feel that makes you want to cast one after another.

Multi-Plate Carbon Washer
As a tough baitcasting reel, the drag structure has been revamped. As part of the IM Z series, the redesigned drag features a multi-plate drag washer (composed of three carbon washers), achieving both smooth operation and a maximum drag force of 6kg.

Electronic Drag Sound
This feature detects spool rotation and provides an electronic drag sound to alert the angler when the drag is engaged. The traditional mechanical click mechanism plays an important role in informing the angler that the drag is engaged. However, the ratchet mechanism and sound-emitting pin inside the drive gear, which are used to generate the sound, created physical resistance. By eliminating this mechanical structure and incorporating an "electronic drag sound," we achieved both smooth drag performance and a more audible drag sound.

Oil Injection Cap
With the sub-brake-less design, the zero adjuster has been eliminated. The IM Z TW100-C is equipped with an oil injection cap. The cap can be removed using the included dedicated tool. Removing the cap allows for oiling and maintenance of the pinion ball bearing.

Equipped with four LED lights on the palming side plate
The current function mode and status are displayed and notified along with different LED colors and the number of lights, as well as a notification sound.

Control Switch Located on Palming Side Plate
Startup, shutdown, brake force setting, and brake mode changes can be achieved with a single control switch. The LED light and operating sound work together for ease of use. *Various modes can be set with a short or long press.

Improved Battery Life!
The IM Z TW100-C not only improves the accuracy of the digitally controlled brake, but also aims for energy savings, extending battery life. With the implementation of a new IM unit, continuous use of approximately 1,000 times* on a single full charge has been achieved.

Equipped with a lithium battery
The connection terminal is located at the rear of the palm-mounted side plate. Charging is possible by opening and closing the battery cap on the connection terminal and inserting the included charging cord straight and firmly into the connection terminal.
* The connection terminal is waterproof.
* When charging, make sure the device is dry. * Never charge if the device is wet.
* After charging, be sure to close the battery cap before use.
