ABU GARCIA Zenon Core BF7-L

THE STANDARD ZENON is equipped with ZENON's core technology. With a weight of 164g, a 32mm spool diameter, and an aluminum frame, it's a versatile model that can also be used with SW.
The lineup includes a gear ratio 7 model with a line capacity of 8lb-100m that is ideal for general shallow fishing and SW bait finesse, and a deep groove high gear model with a gear ratio of 8 that is ideal for cover fishing and using medium-weight big baits with a line capacity of 14lb-100m.

Ergonomic Design
The ZENON reel body is designed with an ergonomic design. With typical baitcasting reels, it was common practice to have the rear ends of the left and right side plates positioned the same. With the ZENON, only the rear ends of the palming side plates have been moved forward. The clutch bar also has an asymmetrical design to prevent accidental pressing caused by interference with the palm of the hand when palming. As a result, we have been able to dramatically improve palming and clutch operability.

Pinion support structure
The powerful reeling force from the handle is transmitted in the order drive gear → pinion gear → spool. Even the slightest distortion in any part of this rotation transmission will have a negative effect on rotation. The pinion support structure securely supports the outer part of the pinion gear with the crank side plate via a ball bearing. This structure achieves highly efficient reeling and a greatly improved gear feel. Furthermore, when casting, optimal spool free movement and castability are achieved by maintaining a constant appropriate clearance between the inner surface of the pinion gear and the rotating spool shaft.

Extra-super duralumin large diameter drive gear
The ZENON Core uses the same large-diameter gear as the ZENON BEAST. It is made of ultra-high-strength, ultra-durable extra-super duralumin, which also contributes to its lightweight construction. The synergistic effect with the pinion support structure ensures efficient, light, and comfortable reeling, while also improving the durability of the gearing. *Images are for illustrative purposes only.

High-strength durametal frame
The Durametal frame is made of an aluminum alloy, providing optimal strength and durability, and is also designed for tough saltwater fishing.

C6 Carbon Side Plates
C6 Carbon is Abu Garcia's proprietary carbon fiber reinforced engineering plastic, with a stiffness comparable to that of magnesium, allowing for significant weight reduction without sacrificing strength or durability.

Carbon matrix drag & drag clicker
Abu Garcia's unique carbon matrix drag washers allow for higher drag force while maintaining smooth performance over a wide range. The clicker lets you hear the drag speed and allows you to keep an eye on line breaks.

MAGTRAX III brakes
Abu Garcia's MAGTRAX III brake boasts a simple, reliable design. Its simple construction ensures reliable backlash prevention. You can also adjust the number of internal magnets to suit your casting skill. Its unique feature is that the brake is activated the moment the lure is released, preventing backlash even when using lures with high air resistance in headwinds. It also allows for pinpoint accuracy when pitching lightweight rigs or casting short distances. The BF7 model comes with six magnets by default, while the HS8 has ten.

Hollow paddle handle knob
The handle knobs used on ZENON are paddle knobs made with high-precision engineering plastic on the inside and elastomer on the outside to prevent slipping or slipping out of your fingers. They also feature a hollow design for lighter weight. The BF7 model features a small hollow knob that allows for thin, delicate reeling, while the HS8 model features a large hollow knob that provides a firm grip when shooting into cover or aggressively reeling in a big fish.

Cam lock lever
The cam lock lever for opening the palm side plate is located at the bottom of the side plate. When the cam lock lever is in the "open" position, the claw of the lever protrudes, preventing you from forgetting to tighten the lever. (The photo shows the lever in the open position.)

Recessed reel foot
Abu Garcia's recessed reel foot allows the spool to be positioned as close to the bottom of the reel body as possible, resulting in an optimal low profile.
