The Towady is a trout topwater plug designed to attract fish both on the surface and just below it. It performs sharp, table-turn actions across the surface, then dives with a flashing roll beneath it—enticing strikes from trout that are aware of activity near the water’s surface, whether in still water or light current.

Features
With its minnow-like shape and slightly upright landing posture of about 60–70°, the Towady produces crisp dog-walk and table-turn actions. The rounded belly generates appealing surface ripples that draw trout from a distance. When given a strong jerk, it dives underwater, and the combination of its cupped head and slightly flattened body creates irregular, flashing movements that trigger reaction bites.

Despite its compact size, a rear-positioned tungsten weight ensures stable casting distance and accuracy.

How to Use
Keep the rod tip low and twitch the lure lightly near the surface, incorporating short, deliberate pauses. Occasionally make a stronger, wider jerk to dive the lure below the surface. After the dive, add subtle twitches to create irregular, unpredictable movements—a technique especially effective when fish are less active. The Towady performs best in early spring, and can also be productive on calm winter evenings when rising water temperatures make trout more responsive.
