SHIMANO 26 Nexave 2500S
Aperçu
A standard model for bass fishing
If you're going to use a reel for bass fishing, start with this model. With a normal gear ratio and a line capacity of 100m of 5lb fluorocarbon line, it's ideal for slow fishing techniques.
Even as an entry-level model, there is absolutely no compromise on performance. The 26 Nexave combines a calm, understated exterior with the technology of higher-end models, maintaining an affordable price while thoroughly pursuing the basic performance required of a lure fishing reel: "smooth rotation," "toughness," and "trouble-free operation." With more features than ever before, it is a reel that even beginners can use with confidence. The lineup now includes 11 items in total, from 1000 to C5000HG, with the addition of the new C2000SHG to the existing 10 items. With an impenetrable lineup that can handle a variety of genres, from delicate light game fishing to jigging and casting games, it will support your first challenge in lure fishing.
Despite being an entry-level model, it boasts practical fishing performance that rivals higher-end models

With its chic, black-based exterior and impressive specifications incorporating features from higher-end models, the Nexave, an entry-level model, exudes a sense of status thanks to its solid construction. It embodies Shimano's concept of uncompromising product development.
The newly released 2026 model incorporates new technologies such as Silent Drive, Anti-Twist Fin, and Stopper Switching Mechanism to enhance usability for lure fishing. Its smooth rotation and trouble-free performance have been further improved. From casting to retrieving and fighting, the Nexave has refined its entire operation, achieving practical fishing performance approaching that of higher-end models. Reliable Shimano quality ensures a comfortable game that transcends its class.
Commitment to Rigidity Supporting Smooth and Powerful Winding
Winding is the most important and fundamental function of a reel. Powerful and smooth winding takes precedence over any technology, and supporting that winding is the rigidity that firmly protects the internal structure. If the rigidity is weak, the body will distort when force is applied to the handle, resulting in power loss and difficulty in transmitting power. On the other hand, increased rigidity reduces such power loss, allowing the applied force to be transmitted more effectively. Shimano continues to prioritize the rigidity of the reel body to achieve smooth rotational performance.

Uncompromisingly rigid body
The body is made of a high-strength resin with excellent rigidity. Designed with a philosophy that doesn't sacrifice rigidity, the body resists distortion even under heavy loads, providing robust protection for the gear meshing. This ensures the strength required for modern fishing, which often utilizes low-stretch PE lines.

A metal handle that prevents power loss
Even if the main body has high rigidity, if the handle bends or deforms, sufficient power will not be transmitted. The handle is made of metal and finished in a shape that suppresses bending. This converts the power the angler puts into the handle into winding force without loss, allowing you to take control with aggressive reeling even under high load.
*For example, when forcefully reeling in to prevent the lure from getting caught in obstacles (such as tetrapods) (avoiding line friction against obstacles and preventing line breakage)
High-precision design for smooth rotation performance

High-precision manufacturing that produces smooth rotation performance
For fishing where light handling and sensitivity are important, reeling wobble and unpleasant noise are major enemies. A smooth rotation feel is enjoyable in itself, enhances the angler's concentration, and ultimately promotes improved performance. Shimano realizes a more comfortable fishing experience through manufacturing that pursues high precision down to each individual part.

Precision Errors Smaller Than a Hair
Shimano manufactures gears with extremely high precision, smaller than a hair, pollen, mist droplets, or yellow dust particles. This results in very small meshing errors, providing smoothness, excellent feel, and stable power transmission.

Silent Drive delivers a new dimension of smooth winding.
Models equipped with Silent Drive have undergone a thorough redesign of the entire body and drive-related components, eliminating even the slightest play and gaps between parts. This includes a wide range of areas such as the drive gear, worm shaft, worm shaft pin, worm shaft gear, and slider gear, resulting in a new dimension of smooth rotation and quiet winding.
Achieving both increased casting distance and trouble-free performance. AR-C Spool

In addition to its role in winding and storing line, the spool of a spinning reel is also required to smoothly release the line during casting. However, sometimes problems can occur due to friction between the lines during repeated casting, leading to a decrease in casting distance.

The AR-C spool featured in the Nexave reel was developed to solve both of these problems simultaneously. Its innovative spool shape, with a unique (reverse taper) spool ring, combines the advantages of both increased casting distance and tangle prevention. This special shape provides a "line straightening effect," simultaneously achieving smooth line release and improved casting distance.
The AR-C spool, compatible with all line materials including nylon, fluorocarbon, and PE, ensures comfortable casting in any situation.
Leading to beautiful winding

The newly incorporated anti-twist fins support the correct and smooth winding of the line picked up by the bail. The phenomenon of the wound line becoming slack and falling off or overflowing onto the spool skirt is a problem that can occur when retrieving slack line. This can also cause backlash on the next cast, but by incorporating these small resin fins under the line roller, the line is kept taut and at the appropriate tension. In synergy with the AR-C spool, line troubles are suppressed.
Reducing the weight by revising the center of gravity

The G-Free Body is a technology that reduces the perceived weight of the reel, separate from the overall weight reduction of the reel body.
By positioning the sliding components that allow the spool to move back and forth at the top of the reel body, the center of gravity of the entire reel is brought closer to the angler's hand. This increases the sense of unity with the rod, reduces fatigue from repeated casting, and improves rod handling.
Commitment to corrosion resistance to prevent performance degradation

Maintaining initial performance while minimizing cosmetic deterioration
While reel performance continues to evolve, even the most high-performance reels can deteriorate due to saltwater and friction. To prevent this and maintain initial performance for as long as possible, Shimano employs various decorative techniques. Beautiful appearance, uncompromising performance. This is Shimano's commitment to detail, even in unseen areas.

Scratch-resistant and peel-resistant paint
Our commitment to paint quality is to maintain a beautiful appearance with even color, resistance to scratches, and peeling. Furthermore, because it allows for the use of a wide range of colors, it is frequently used on resin parts and the main body of the vehicle.

Anodizing enhances corrosion resistance with a protective film
Anodizing is a process that oxidizes the surface of aluminum to create a protective film. This maintains the beautiful color and improves corrosion resistance and surface hardness. Shimano's rust-preventive anodizing treatment particularly protects the spool, where the line directly contacts, from scratches and corrosion, thus minimizing damage to the line.
A handle knob designed for reliable transmission of the angler's intentions and a focus on durability

The handle knob is a crucial part involved in all aspects of reel operation, from precise lure action input to consistent reeling speed. To ensure reliable transmission of the angler's intentions, it requires both grip strength and long-term durability.
General-purpose spinning reels utilize durable rubber for the handle knobs, resisting deterioration. This prevents wear and tear and stickiness even after prolonged use. Furthermore, the handle knobs are designed with shapes that match the reel size and intended use.

Anti-Twist Fin
A unique fin that suppresses line slack.
An elastic fin is positioned close to the line roller. By suppressing line slack, it reduces the phenomenon of line falling off the bottom of the spool and the phenomenon of the line being wound onto the spool while twisted.
