Overview

The Masso 60MH is designed primarily for two-handed casting and is not intended for single-handed casting techniques. The 30 cm rear grip allows anglers to generate smooth, low-effort casting power using a light pulling motion, making it highly efficient and comfortable for continuous casting.

This design significantly reduces fatigue, making it especially well-suited for long international fishing trips where repeated casting throughout the day is required.

The rod features a regular taper MH action, optimized for a wide range of lure sizes—from medium plugs starting around 14 g up to 85 g—excelling particularly in active jerk-based techniques.

In real-world use, the rod has been applied in fisheries such as the Negro River system, handling:

• ~28 g pencil baits as the main lure class
• Smallest: 14 g “Magic Stick 90” class lures
• Largest: 70 g diving pencils

It also performs well with:

• 2 oz-class lures such as Tiny Klash and Jointed Claw
• Medium-range pinpoint casting
• Large surface baits (30–60 g class big swimbaits and sweepers)

With strong, crisp action control, it is fully capable of working big surface lures used for peacock bass-style fishing.
