DSEX-710 – Power Spinning

Designed for targeting large, trophy-sized rockfish (Mebaru) on rocky shores and surf.

The tip section is extremely sensitive, just enough to handle ultra-light plugs around 2 g with complete control. When pressure is applied, the tip bends precisely, while the belly and butt sections are strong yet quick to return, creating a perfectly balanced blank.

Unlike jig-head plus worm setups, rockfish plugging often uses treble hooks, which tend to hook shallowly. A rod that is simply stiff and strong can easily tear the fish’s mouth or break the hook when pulling aggressively, preventing a reliable catch. Conversely, a rod that is too soft and bends excessively loses control in shallow or obstacle-laden areas.

The DSEX-710 is engineered to bend only as much as necessary under load, and to snap back as quickly as possible. This allows anglers to counter strong head shakes from large rockfish, control the fish without letting it turn, and bring it in aggressively for a secure catch. It is a highly responsive, offensive rod built specifically for pursuing large Mebaru.
