OWNER Kodama #6.5
Aperçu
Attack-type ultra-sharp Shiwari hook
A short-shank, quick-setting, split hook that can be used for any fishing method, including live bait fishing, trolling, etc.
The unplated, ultra-sharp hook point and the slightly wider gap inherited from Just One Core ensure a firm hold even on ayu that bite weakly.
This hook boasts an exceptionally well-balanced design overall.
Experience the speed of its hook-up and its excellent holding power.
A word from Keigo Shima
In my regular fishing, I often use straight hooks, but when using live bait, I inevitably encounter situations where the hook picks up rocks. In such cases, I use a curved hook, but since I always focus on aggressive fishing, a simple curved shape wasn’t enough for me. That’s why the newly released “Kodama” hook, with its short shank shape, allows for lightness and quick hook-ups, enabling aggressive fishing even with a curved hook. With the release of “Kodama,” the distinction between using straight and curved hooks will become clearer, and I think my attack patterns will expand.
A word from Ippei Matsumoto
Among the many hooks with various curved shapes in the lineup, Kodama came closest to my ideal curved shape. During the testing phase, since ayu fishing is a cyclical type of fishing, I mainly used sizes 6-6.5 in the early part of the season, focusing on reducing damage to the ayu that were caught. In fact, the hook wounds were shallow, and I was able to handle the bait fish in an energetic state. Even when using sizes 7-7.5 on ayu with tougher skin towards the end of the season, the hook held firmly and had excellent retention, so I feel that it is a hook that can be used throughout the season.
