LEGIT DESIGN WILD SIDE HP — Spinning Model

The WILD SIDE HP spinning models are a rebuild of the spinning models from the popular WILD SIDE series, bringing together the latest materials and manufacturing methods with everything LEGIT DESIGN has learned along the way.

With thin-diameter PE line now seeing wider use, the blank tuning was re-examined from the ground up. Specifically, we worked out the combination of materials and manufacturing method needed to build a blank suited to the low-stretch character of PE line. Reinforcement with aramid, optimized for each individual model, achieves delicacy and a clean swing-through feel while still finishing a blank that's supple yet powerfully tough.

Bass-fishing spinning rods tend to get judged mainly on stiffness, sharpness, and light weight. But what LEGIT DESIGN considers a rod that truly catches fish is one an angler can use without stress, almost without thinking — the kind where, before you know it, you're catching fish. User-friendly, and cutting-edge: that's the WILD SIDE HP series' spinning models.

Blank — As the main carbon has evolved, the aramid reinforcement — the biggest feature — is placed mainly in the butt section. To match the growing use of PE line, the taper is designed slightly more toward regular and supple than before. This is a LEGIT DESIGN blank design through and through, using not just cutting-edge carbon like TORAYCA® T1100G and M40X, but carbons of different moduli placed exactly where each is needed.

Guides — Fuji Kogyo stainless-steel-frame SiC-ring guides. A LEGIT DESIGN original setup, optimized model by model to draw the maximum performance out of each blank.

Reel Seat — Fitted with a Fuji Kogyo VSS reel seat. Uses a reel seat and cork grip shape suited to delicate handling and enticement.

Grip End — Kept simpler and lighter, with a small-shape EVA.

End Cap — A rubber end cap fitted with a raised, pressed-metal emblem.

Reel Hood — A new design featuring a 4-axis carbon hood with the LEGIT DESIGN logo.

WHPS62EXUL — "For Mid Strolling Finesse"

■ A mid-strolling finesse rod that combines outstanding handling with delicacy.

Built to keep pace with the evolution of mid-strolling, its length has been shortened to 6'2". Combined with a blank finished with a slightly tip-oriented action, handling is dramatically improved. For jighead-and-worm combinations from micro sizes up to 3-inch class, this rod lets you transmit exactly what you intend — from a slack-line shake to techniques like a quick release or high-pitch shaking to trigger a bite. Also compatible with PE line. A new mid-strolling finesse spinning rod.
