Hybrid Full-Solid Construction

[EXTRO Solid Blank] + [Special Solid Tip]

The carbon full-solid blank uses the “EXTRO structure,” a manufacturing method that combines flexibility with rigidity—providing a soft, smooth bend when needed, yet delivering dependable strength and power under load. The tip section is seamlessly integrated with the ultra-flexible special solid tip shared across the Gekidaki Shaft series, allowing subtle bites to be clearly visualized. This structure also offers excellent durability, helping prevent breakage caused by line wrapping or excessive load during retrieval.

GEKIDAKI SHAFT EXTRO

Ika Metal Models

The flexible blank absorbs the boat’s movement, automatically supporting a “dead-still” presentation of the rig—an advantage that becomes highly apparent in tough, inactive conditions. It also detects bites across the entire rod, enabling an aggressive hooking style when opportunities appear.

GEKIDAKI SHAFT EXTRO

Omorig Models

Even when casting heavy sinkers, the rod’s resilient blank provides confidence and allows anglers to cast aggressively across a wide search area. Compared to high-modulus rods, release timing feels more natural, delivering smooth and controlled casting arcs. During jigging, the blank’s deep bend into the butt reduces strain on the wrist and arm, maintaining a light and comfortable rhythm throughout the retrieve.

SPECIFICATIONS

Titanium-Frame SiC Ring Guides

Equipped with titanium-frame SiC-S guides throughout, supporting quick and smooth operation.

Spiral Guide System

Improves line visibility and reduces tangles even with slack line present, offering a trouble-free, fast-paced approach on the water.

Special Solid Tip

Ultra-soft tip visualizes subtle bites while maintaining excellent durability to help prevent breakage from accidental reel-in. Note: This does not guarantee immunity from breakage. Images shown are for demonstration purposes—do not attempt to replicate.

Since the material is prone to forming set bends, do not store the rod with the tip bent or under load for extended periods. If the tip develops a curve, storing with no pressure on the rod for several hours to several days may help reduce deformation.

High-Visibility Tip Markings

For rods held tip-up while waiting for bites: yellow blank with black & orange wraps. For rods held tip-down: black blank with yellow & orange wraps. Color schemes are optimized for visibility based on intended use.

2-Piece Design

All models utilize a grip-joint two-piece configuration.

GDX-C64ML (Deep & Fast Current Power Model)

An optimized model engineered to leverage the strengths of the EXTRO structure when primarily using heavy metal sutte of size #25 and above. Designed to assist the angler, the blank harnesses the supple power of full solid carbon to let you easily work and manipulate heavy weights all night long with minimal fatigue. The tip features a hybrid solid construction (splicing a specialized solid carbon tip) to perfectly balance lifting power with ultra-fine visual sensitivity.

Angler Review: "Insights from the Genkai Nada Sea" | Yotaro Suzuki

"The Genkai Nada is famous for its raging currents, often requiring the use of heavy sutte around size #30. In fact, on my testing day, I built my entire strategy around the 30-size Gekidaki Sutte Metal.
Under those heavy-load conditions, my biggest takeaway was how incredibly easy it was to keep jigging. In squid metal fishing, you are jerking the rod all night long, meaning your fatigue level varies dramatically depending on your tackle balance. The GDX-C64ML disperses the load across the entire blank even with #30 class sutte, allowing me to comfortably keep up the action without straining.
Furthermore, in areas like Genkai Nada where tides shift rapidly, feeling exactly what your sutte is doing is vital. Even when the current was racing, this rod clearly transmitted the weight of the sutte and changes in current pressure, making range-keeping highly intuitive.
Confidence When Fighting Monster Squid During this trip, I landed a massive, 50cm-class (mantle length) Ken-saki Squid (Swordtip Squid). Large squid fight back with violent jet-propulsion blasts, but once hooked, the rod bends deeply and follows the movements so smoothly that I felt zero anxiety about tearing the delicate flesh. On the other hand, the visual bite detection is outstanding—even a tiny, millimeter-scale dip in the tip is highly visible.
Who is this rod for? I highly recommend this model to anyone fishing in areas where size #30-class sutte are the standard, and who wants to stay completely comfortable and focused all night. It strikes a beautiful balance between crisp control and raw power, showing great depth for both high-count catching and targeting giant-sized squid."
