Aperçu

A flower that blooms at night continues to shine ever brighter.

First introduced to the DAIWA lineup in 2005, Gekkabijin is a tackle brand dedicated exclusively to light saltwater games. Like a beautiful flower blooming under the moonlight, Gekkabijin dances gracefully, bringing anglers into an exhilarating world of finesse fishing.

Though targets such as horse mackerel are familiar, they often demand extremely delicate approaches. Meanwhile, large, cunning rockfish lurk in the shadows of reefs and weed edges, patiently waiting for bait to come within reach. Gekkabijin tackle has evolved precisely to meet these challenges. And it will continue to evolve—together with anglers—delivering new levels of excitement and enjoyment never experienced before. The elegant brilliance of Gekkabijin will keep illuminating the world of light saltwater fishing.

Class-leading sensitivity achieved through advanced action and a carbon monocoque rear grip

The Gekkabijin MX series is built around the concept of class-leading sensitivity and operability.
Its blanks, specially designed for mebaring, incorporate technologies inherited from higher-end models, achieving both high sensitivity and a slim profile.

Delicate signals such as bottom contact or momentary slack are clearly transmitted, allowing anglers to perceive every subtle change in the lure and execute precise, intentional actions.
The integrated carbon monocoque rear grip, molded entirely from carbon, further enhances vibration transmission to the hand, enabling instant detection and quick hooksets during curve falls or retrieves.

The reel seat features the Zero Seat Compact Fit design, offering a light, natural grip
(spinning models: Seamless Fit / baitcasting models: Cavity Trigger).

In addition to the main jighead rigs, the lineup supports split-shot rigs, Carolina rigs, and a wide variety of lures and situations—another major appeal of the series.

DAIWA Technology

X45

To prevent rod twist generated during casting, action, hooking, and fighting, DAIWA determined through extensive research that adding ±45° bias cross carbon—alongside traditional 0° and 90° layers—is optimal.
The X45 structure dramatically improves power, control, and sensitivity by effectively suppressing torsional distortion.

MEGA TOP

MEGA TOP is a carbon solid tip with fibers and resin evenly dispersed, allowing uniform bending in all directions. Compared to conventional carbon solid tips, strength is significantly improved. This enables the creation of ultra-slim, flexible, high-taper tips with exceptional tactile and visual sensitivity.
Available on models 610L-S and 74UL-S only.

ZERO SEAT

ZERO SEAT represents a new reel seat design philosophy focused on eliminating stress and maximizing pure fishing enjoyment.

V-JOINT

By incorporating bias-structure carbon sheets into the joint section, V-JOINT delivers smooth, natural bending comparable to a one-piece rod. Compared to non-equipped models, it offers enhanced power, stiffness, and faster recovery, producing an ideal rod action.

HVF NANOPLUS

High-density HVF carbon reduces resin content while increasing carbon fiber density, making it ideal for rods that demand strength and resilience. Combined with Toray Nanoalloy® technology using DAIWA’s proprietary manufacturing process, it achieves further gains in strength and weight reduction.

ItemDescription
68L-T Short model with a highly sensitive tubular tip and excellent handling. The responsive tip allows precise control of finesse jighead rigs, enabling natural drifting to trigger rockfish bites. Ideal for run-and-gun fishing around rocky shores and low breakwaters, and for quickly assessing field conditions during short sessions.
610L-S Short model featuring a delicate solid tip and easy-to-handle length. Excellent operability on low breakwaters and small rocky areas. The supple tip absorbs bites well, reducing missed hook-ups. Suitable for night fishing with jighead rigs and plugs, as well as daytime games requiring frequent, fine rod actions.
72L-T Light standard model that enhances operability and vibration sensitivity unique to a tubular tip. Designed for long-distance casting of lightweight jighead rigs and plugs, with effective lure control using a higher action pivot point. The length helps avoid near-shore structure and cover points requiring extra casting distance.
74UL-S All-round model with a delicate solid tip that automatically converts sharp rockfish bites into secure hook-ups. Handles core rockfish techniques, including long casting and drifting of small jighead rigs around 1 g and small plugs around 3 g.
710ML-T Power model designed for targeting rockfish holding on offshore breaks and bottom structure using jighead rigs, plugs, and float rigs. Optimized for open areas such as rocky shores, surf zones, and boulder fields, enabling long casts and precise lure control beyond the reach of shorter rods.
83M-T High-power model for targeting large rockfish holding close to the bottom. Excels in expansive areas such as rocky shores, surf, and boulder fields with heavier jighead rigs, large plugs, and float rigs. Also effective in mixed-species situations involving seabass and black sea bream.
73ULB-T Bait finesse model designed for accurate casting of lightweight plugs and jighead rigs, emphasizing tactile sensitivity during palming. The near-regular taper blank offers smooth bending and ease of handling. A one-piece carbon-molded grip end enhances full-hand sensitivity, clearly transmitting bottom contact and subtle bites.
76LB-T All-round baitcasting model covering long-distance float and Carolina rigs, as well as plugs and metal jigs. The blank balances casting ease and crisp operability, delivering sharp action and a powerful butt for pulling large rockfish from structure. The carbon-integrated grip end provides exceptional full-hand sensitivity.
