DAIWA Emeraldas X 86ML/J
Aperçu
To fill every moment you spend with squid with real excitement.

"Emeraldas." The total tackle brand for squid gaming that DAIWA launched ahead of the rest of the world — built to put squid in your hands, and to fill every moment you spend with squid, right up until that ultimate moment arrives, with real excitement.
An exhilarating casting feel. Sensitivity that keeps relaying every change and sign through what used to be just idle waiting time — the fall, the stay, right up to the hookset. Reassuring confidence even when fighting a big one. And, precisely because it's a total design, a comfortable feel in the hand along with the kind of photogenic looks that shine in your camera roll.
Emeraldas. From the moment it's in your hands, we want it to keep delivering that excitement, anytime, forever.
Eging just got even more fun! A high-cost-performance series that packs in real-world fishing performance.
The "Emeraldas X" series delivers the kind of ease of use that lets anyone confidently perform the basic moves of eging — casting and jerking. Developed by pouring in insights gained from the high-end models without holding anything back, in pursuit of the best feel in its class. The newly designed lightweight blank combines a crisp feel with just the right amount of suppleness, supporting the angler by staying easy on fatigue through repeated action. The lineup is broad too, so you can pick the model that best fits your area.
DAIWA Technology
Air Sensor Seat

The Air Sensor Seat, which incorporates carbon fiber, achieves light weight, high strength, and high sensitivity. It's purpose-designed for each rod's intended use, delivering a level of handling that a generic reel seat simply can't match.
Mega Top

Mega Top is a carbon solid material with fibers and resin evenly distributed throughout, so it bends the same way in every direction. As a result, its strength is dramatically improved compared to a conventional carbon solid tip. This makes it possible to build a slim-diameter, flexible, high-taper tip section that delivers not only sensitivity you can feel in your hand, but also excellent visual sensitivity in the tip itself, giving you a tip section that reads bites reliably.
Used on the 76UL-S and 79L-S
Braiding X

Braiding X is a reinforcement structure that binds the outermost layer of the blank's butt section with carbon tape in an X pattern, suppressing the twist that leads to power loss when handling the rod. This keeps the blank itself slim while securing high strength, and also reduces the feeling of top-heaviness, improving overall handling.
HVF Carbon

For the carbon sheet material that has the greatest influence on rod performance, DAIWA focused not only on increasing the modulus of the carbon fiber itself, but also on the amount of resin — the adhesive-like material that binds the carbon fibers together. By trimming away resin, which can be thought of as excess bulk, and increasing carbon fiber density instead, "high-density HVF carbon" becomes leaner and more powerful. It's an ideal material for rods that prioritize toughness and strength.

Newly designed blank

A newly designed blank that combines a light, crisp feel with just the right amount of bend. Its slim design cuts wind resistance and dramatically improves handling.
Air Sensor Seat (Slim)

The Air Sensor Seat (Slim), also used on higher-end models, is easy to grip and stays comfortable even after a full day of hard use.
Braiding X

Braiding X is used in the butt section, giving a spec that's both slim and powerful. It lets you work not just large egi, but egi of any shape, with confident action.
The tubular-tip spec delivers action that's both supple and makes full use of the blank's rebound power.

Emeraldas coloring that shines out on the water is worked into the details, giving it real presence.

A reverse-parallel joint design that bends like a whip, letting you use every bit of butt power.

K-Guides that keep line-tangle trouble to a minimum.
