DAIWA CONNECTED aims to provide new value to the fishing scene by achieving "easy setup," "evolved functionality," and "a new experience." DAIWA CONNECTED is comprised of two technologies: "Electric Mobile Setting" and the "DAIWA Connecting System," and refers to a "reel that connects to your smartphone." The "DAIWA Connecting System," one of the DAIWA CONNECTED features, is installed on baitcasting spinning reels and smelt reels. The DAIWA Connecting System works in conjunction with wirelessly compatible reels (baitcasting reels and smelt reels with a "-C" at the end), allowing you to update functions and check data obtained from the reel.
Furthermore, in spring 2025, a new function that links with wearable devices (sub-displays and hearables) will be released. The DAIWA CONNECTED concept will bring new value to the fishing scene and further expand the enjoyment of fishing.

HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
This next-generation design concept for baitcasting (spinning) reels dramatically improves all basic performance standards, aiming to maintain high initial performance for a long time. The HyperDrive Design is comprised of four technologies: Hyper Double Support, which requires the HyperDrive Digigear for long-lasting smooth rotation and assists the gear drive for strong, light reeling; Hyper Armed Housing, which provides strong support for the internal structure and resists bending and distortion; and Hyper Tough Clutch, with an insulated structure that continues to operate even in harsh locations and greatly reduces adhesion due to salt buildup. These synergistic effects ensure stable performance in any field.

HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
This newly designed gear system pursues strong, smooth rotation that lasts. This proprietary DAIWA technology achieves an increased meshing rate without reducing the gear tooth module (size), which directly affects durability, thereby maintaining initial smoothness for a long time. Furthermore, the 150-C series HyperDrive Digigear features an increased tooth width, providing smooth rotation under both light and heavy loads.

HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
A drive support system that delivers sustained smoothness and powerful, lightweight reeling. By supporting both ends of the pinion gear with two highly precise ball bearings, the input from the handle is not attenuated, allowing for powerful, effortless reeling even under load.

HYPER ARMED HOUSING (FULL AL)
A housing system that firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and precision, producing a precise reeling feel and power. Using a metal frame, which is essential, combined with the side plate and set plate, enables basic performance to be maintained for even longer. This series uses aluminum alloy for the frame, side plate (handle side), and set plate. It delivers high reeling performance that rivals that of round reels.

HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
Not only does this clutch system offer crisp on/off performance that continues to slide thousands or even tens of thousands of times, it also operates with extremely low trouble, even in high-salinity waters. Its cutting-edge insulation structure has already reduced the number of repairs due to sticking in harsh saltwater fishing by 99% compared to our previous models.

ATD
The ATD operates smoothly and continuously in response to the fish's pull. Its optimized start-up and tracking performance allow you to focus on the fight without worrying about drag settings.

SYNCHRO LEVEL WIND
This mechanism synchronizes the left and right reciprocating motion of the level wind in response to spool rotation during both rig release and reeling. Not only does it maintain a clean line spool, but its movement during release ensures a smooth rig release.

ELECTRONIC DRAG SOUND

This function detects spool rotation and notifies you of drag activation with an electronic sound.
The conventional drag click (mechanical structure) plays an important role in communicating drag operation to the angler. However, the ratchet structure inside the drive gear and the sound-producing pin structure that produce the sound create physical resistance. By eliminating this mechanical structure and incorporating an "electronic drag sound," it is now possible to achieve both smooth drag performance and a more audible drag sound.

With a focus on winding performance, the new long handle is optimized for sensitivity and constant winding, allowing for accurate detection of current changes. The 130mm long handle, in particular, is specially designed to eliminate the weight associated with higher gear ratios. While a 65mm single handle requires technique to achieve consistent winding speed, the 130mm long handle enables smooth and consistent winding, even with high gears. It also features a Power Light MM knob for a better grip.
