The 25 EMERALDAS AIR is even lighter than its predecessor, the 21 EMERALDAS AIR, which was the lightest in EMERALDAS history. Combining the EMERALDAS AIR 75MLM/K with the EMERALDAS AIR LT2500S achieves a total tackle weight of just 230g. For all-day squid fishing, lightweight tackle is a major benefit. The AIRDRIVE DESIGN also improves weight balance, reducing the feeling of heaviness, making the reel feel even lighter.
The reduced heaviness also improves maneuverability, a major factor in fishing results when it comes to squid fishing, where you're constantly jerking the lure. High maneuverability, allowing you to control the squid jig at will, is essential for catching valuable fish in high-pressure fishing fields.
The drive gear, the heart of the reel, is equipped with a machine-cut TOUGH DIGIGEAR made from ultra-super duralumin with a special surface treatment. Eging puts a lot of strain on reels, but the inclusion of a tough drive gear makes this reel even more reliable and convenient to use.

AIRDRIVE DESIGN
Air Drive Design is a next-generation spinning reel design concept that pursues the angler's desire to control lures exactly as they wish. Air Drive Design is comprised of up to four technologies. Its prerequisite is the Air Drive Rotor, which produces light winding and highly responsive rotation. It also features a lightweight, trouble-free Air Drive Bail, a thin-walled Air Drive Spool with minimal unnecessary material, and an Air Drive Shaft with a high-precision collar supporting the main shaft and a non-contact structure with the pinion gear, enabling light winding with extremely little rotational noise even under heavy loads. The synergistic effect of these technologies, combined with the improved weight balance of the reel, delivers a high level of operability.

AIRDRIVE ROTOR
Using our unique theory, we have derived a new shape that is as if it were cut out of a sphere, and by thoroughly removing unnecessary material, we have achieved a significant weight reduction while maintaining rigidity.This has resulted in a dramatic improvement in the lightness of the reel's winding, which leads to improved operability and sensitivity.

AIRDRIVE BAIL
The Air Bail has a hollow pipe structure that provides rigidity and lightness, but to achieve even greater weight reduction, the diameter has been reduced while maintaining the necessary strength. The bail angle is set to an optimal angle that allows the line to transition more smoothly from the bail to the line roller. This makes it even lighter and less troublesome.

AIRDRIVE SPOOL
A thin-walled design has been achieved by eliminating unnecessary material to achieve the ultimate in lightweight design. Not only has the spool skirt been designed to be thin, but the interior of the spool has also been thoroughly lightened. The lighter spool has improved operability, including lighter winding and casting. Furthermore, a drag sound mechanism with less operating resistance has been implemented to improve response when the drag is activated.

AIRDRIVE SHAFT
The system uses a non-contact structure between the main shaft and pinion, a linear shaft that eliminates friction, and supports both ends of the pinion with bottom brackets, maximizing the power input and converting it into rotational force. Furthermore, by supporting the main shaft with a high-precision collar, rotational noise has been thoroughly reduced.

MONOCOQUE BODY
Monocoque body technology for strength and durability. Conventional spinning reels typically use a body and body cover to support both ends of the drive gear, secured in place with a few screws. Aiming to further improve precision and rigidity, the monocoque body eliminates the body cover and secures the drive gear by screwing a high-precision plate directly into the body. This increases gear support precision, while also improving rigidity and airtightness. Furthermore, by utilizing the space previously occupied by screws, we have succeeded in expanding the size of the drive gear to its maximum. The term "monocoque body" comes from the Japanese words "mono" (single) and "coque" (shell). This completely new shape, symbolizing the strength of a single shell, breaks the conventional wisdom of reel construction.

MAGSEALED
DAIWA's unique waterproof structure creates a wall of magnetic mag oil in the gap between the body and rotor, shutting out seawater, dust, and other elements.

MAGSEALED LINE ROLLER
The line roller is the part that directly receives water and sand picked up by the line. By increasing the waterproofness of the line roller, which is subject to these harsh conditions, it helps maintain the initial performance such as rotation feeling and sensitivity. In addition, it drastically reduces the amount of salt and foreign matter that gets caught in the line, and by improving rotation, it also improves the effect of reducing line twist.

ZAION
DAIWA's unique technology has succeeded in molding a special resin with high-density carbon fiber woven into it, which is extremely difficult to process. This is the pinnacle of DAIWA carbon material, combining incredible lightness and strength. It can be said that only high-end models are allowed to possess such performance.

ATD TYPE-L

LC-ABS (Long Cast ABS)
While maintaining the ABS II concept of reducing contact resistance, the contact point has been moved forward to achieve smoother line release. The forward-moving ring makes it harder for the line to get caught on the ring, resulting in an approximately 5% increase in casting distance and trouble-free casting compared to the previous ABS II. This is the next generation ABS spool that achieves LC (long cast).

The 25EMERALDAS AIR's MC Tough Digigear is made from ultra-super duralumin, which is cold-forged for superior strength and machine-cut to achieve the ideal gear. The drive gear's special surface treatment increases its hardness, reducing the adverse effects of sudden force. This allows for reliable use during egging, which places a heavy load on the drive gear.

Power Round Type EVA Knob
The "Power Round Type EVA Knob" is ideal for egging. The EVA material provides an easy grip and a non-slip grip. The black EVA material hides squid ink stains.

Perfect Line Stopper
A new line stopper design is compatible with both thin lines like PE and thick lines like leaders. The horizontal shape saves vertical space and contributes to a lighter spool.

Stopperless Body
The removal of the stopper simplifies the body structure. By removing the stopper, which allows water and foreign objects to penetrate, we not only reduced weight and improved waterproofing, but also minimized the risk of unexpected trouble when fishing in harsh environments or with large fish, a requirement for the 25EMERALDAS AIR.
