1. Press and hold the clutch button with your thumb.
2. Point the rod in the direction you want to cast and raise it above your shoulder.
3. Swing the rod down forward, and when it's at 10 o'clock (slightly in front of your head), release the clutch button. The line will now be released.
4. Once the rod hits the water, turn the handle clockwise. The line will now be ready to reel in.
