ABU GARCIA MAX5 Elite Rocket L

The MAX5 ELITE ROCKET is a "Rocket Gear" reel featuring a 9:1 gear ratio and a maximum line retrieval rate of 93cm per turn, while inheriting the ergonomic design concept established by the ZENON and Revo series in a compact 33mm-diameter frame. It is equipped with a pin-lock side plate system to prevent the side plate from accidentally falling off. It also utilizes a Carbon Matrix drag system with a drag clicker to ensure smooth performance.

Ergonomic Design
By offsetting the thumb rest toward the handle arm, the angler can grip the reel more deeply and firmly during a fight; this prevents power loss and enables powerful, stable retrieval. The clutch bar features an asymmetrical design to prevent accidental engagement caused by the palm pressing against it while palming the reel.

C6 Carbon Frame & Crank-Side Plate
Abu Garcia’s proprietary C6 carbon material is used for the frame and crank-side plate. This carbon-fiber-reinforced engineering plastic achieves significant weight reduction without compromising strength or durability.

Carbon Matrix Drag with Drag Clicker
Abu Garcia’s proprietary Carbon Matrix drag washers allow for higher drag pressure while maintaining smooth performance across a wide range of settings. The addition of a drag clicker provides audible feedback on the speed at which line is being pulled out, helping the angler manage the fight and avoid line breakage.

Pin-Lock Side Plate
To prevent the side plate from detaching due to the lock lever accidentally disengaging, the MAX5 ELITE ROCKET employs a pin-lock system. The palm-side plate can be removed by pulling the pin on the crank-side plate toward the handle (left photo) and sliding the palm-side plate upward (right photo).

MagTrax™ Brake System
Abu Garcia’s MagTrax brake system prevents backlash through a simple, highly reliable design. The number of internal magnets can be adjusted to suit the angler's casting skills. A key characteristic is that the braking system engages reliably the moment the lure is released during a cast; this effectively prevents backlashes, even when using lures with high wind resistance in headwinds. It also enables pinpoint accuracy when pitching lightweight rigs or casting at short distances. It comes equipped with five magnets as standard.

90mm Aluminum Handle + Large Paddle Knobs
Equipped with a 90mm aluminum handle and large knobs, enabling powerful retrieving and aggressive battles with big fish.

33mm Diameter Spool
Features a 33mm diameter spool and a compact body design that fits comfortably in the hand. With a capacity of 16lb/100m (or PE #3/100m), it is suitable for a wide range of fishing styles.
