EVERGREEN combat stick Phase PCSS-56L The"Master Archer 56"
Overview
A new aspect of combat stick. The new king of bass rods.
It is our new answer to the performance required of bass rods. Development was focused on combat ability in actual battles, with high-level execution of all the movements of "throwing'', "operating'', "feeling'', "hanging'', and "catching''...
Extraordinary casting accuracy and super light operation. An all-tubular short spin for fishing the Kanto reservoir, which requires technical fishing.
In order to conquer the Kanto Reservoir, where there are many covers where casting accuracy is important, such as standing trees, laydowns, bushes, stamps, and overhangs, rental boats are available and fishing pressure is high...
In the Kanto Reservoir, where technical fishing is required from small boats, there are veteran anglers, loco anglers, who have been using short rods for many years and have achieved fishing results, contrary to the modern trend of using long rods.
The Master Archer 56 is an all-tubular short spin rod that was developed to suit modern fishing methods in order to conquer the Kanto Reservoir, which will make you realize once again the need for such a short rod. Not only is it short, but it has been refined to fully utilize the advantages of short spinning.
Designed to enhance the advantages of short rods
In general, the shorter the length, the better the cast accuracy and maneuverability, but if it is too short, the blank will not be able to bend easily, resulting in reduced flight distance, falling apart, and line breaks. The Master Archer 56 is a full tubular, fast taper with a minimum length of 5 feet 6 inches considering these balances.
In recent years, it is easy to handle all light rigs such as neko rigs and drop shot rigs from 0.45g of worms of 2 to 4 inches, or no sinkers, which are often used in high pressure reservoirs in the Kanto region, and the setting is such that you can reliably bring the light line to the landing. In addition to the 56's cast accuracy and light operating feel, the full tubular design prevents sudden changes in hardness on the blank, making it easier to determine the direction when casting, further improving accuracy, which is an advantage of short rods. .
In addition, the echo sensitivity unique to tubular blanks makes it easier to understand what's going on underwater. By adding a fast taper that emphasizes operability, it becomes easier to avoid getting caught, and at the same time, it is easier to remove even if it gets caught, increasing bite opportunities.
And, it is the first in the Phase series to feature a cork grip. The light and dry texture of cork supports high sensitivity and precision operation. We have incorporated features throughout to further enhance accuracy and operability, which are the advantages of short rods.
Method to increase distance with a short rod
Regarding flight distance, it might have been possible to improve the flight distance by making the blanks a little longer, but that would undermine the concept. Therefore, we examined the difference in flight distance due to guide settings. We created many prototypes with the same blanks but with different guides, and repeated comparison tests on site.
As a result, we adopted the theory of area trout rods that use lighter lures than bass fishing, and decided to use a low-leg guide, which is not very common in bass rods, for the butt section guide. Normally, in the case of short rods, the guides are lined up in a short length, so the line has an extreme angle from the butt guide to the tip guide, creating resistance, but by suppressing this phenomenon, we succeeded in increasing flight distance. .
Furthermore, by moving the line closer to the blank, the potential of the blank can be utilized to the fullest, improving sensitivity and operability. We have succeeded in not only improving the disadvantages of short rods, but also further enhancing the advantages and operability of short rods. PE line, which is indispensable in modern spinning, is less likely to get tangled, and the range of techniques that can be used has expanded.
Increase your fishing results in places where other anglers hesitate
Also, in addition to high accuracy, there are other situations when short rods can be used. That's the overhang strategy. Because of its short length, you can not only accurately shoot pin spots with a low trajectory, but also handle the rod without problems such as the tip hitting a branch even in extremely close combat.
Furthermore, since the rod is less likely to get in the way, it is also possible to approach by entering into the overhang. You will be able to attack deeper and more accurately than if you were to aim from the outside in a dimly lit overhang.
Another option is Okappari where footholds are limited. It is a common situation where you reach the water's edge, but are unable to cast as expected due to obstacles around you. Even in such situations, the strength of short spin is that you can cast without worrying about backlash, even if you are unable to make a backswing or follow-through, or from an impossible position.
In this way, whether it is entering an overhang or approaching the water's edge with an okappari, capturing points that other anglers ignore will lead to higher fishing results.
■ Blank :
The length is 5 feet 6 inches, taking into consideration the fact that the shorter the rod, the better the accuracy of casting, operation, and handling, but if it is too short, it will be difficult to fight using the rod's elasticity, and the risk of it falling apart will increase. The main material is a flexible 24 ton carbon high resin type, and the butt to belly are plyed with the same 24 ton low resin type. All tubular fast taper with excellent sensitivity and operability.
[Tip - Former Guide] Unpainted unsand finish that provides a sharp feel.
[Bat section] Reinforced with more tenacious and powerful woven cloth (plain weave cloth).
■ Guide system :
Adopts all stainless steel frame SiC ring K guide.
Number of guides: 7 (including top guide)
● Tip to belly section: Small diameter setting ➡ Emphasizes the delicate operation feel of the light rig.
● Butt section: Adopts a low foot type ➡ Emphasizes smooth thread removal with short length. If you use the currently mainstream small-diameter tip and high-foot type on the butt side in the short span of a short rod, the difference in height of the guide will be large and the line will flow poorly.
■ Grip design :
A separate grip that allows you to comfortably perform single hand casting such as pitching and side hand casting, and delicate lure operation.
■ Foregrip :
The foregrip consists of carbon sleeves of different diameters and tapered metal parts. The thumb and index finger, which are essential for high-precision operation, can be positioned comfortably.
■ Seat & grip design :
Separate grip that is lightweight and easy to operate. The reel seat is a lightweight and compact Fuji IPS. The center grip is made of cork material that emphasizes sensitivity, and has a small shape that allows you to grip it firmly even with light force.
■ Rear grip :
Ultra-compact EVA rear grip with a concave end. This not only reduces the chance of getting caught on the sleeve when casting or operating, but also prevents the weight of the grip from disrupting operations during delicate actions such as shaking.
